LAD is a Bristol-based fundraising initiative. Set up in 2005 by a group of local lads working together at Kingswood Leisure Centre, the LAD mission is to raise as much money as possible for the Prostate Cancer Charity. LAD does this by producing an annual calendar in which the lads pose naked in places that provoke a “how on earth did you do that?” reaction. From Cabot’s Tower and Brunel’s spectacular Clifton Suspension Bridge, to the SS Great Britain and a local female hair salon.
Not only do the lads raise funds, they also raise awareness of how important it is for other lads of all ages to look after their precious tools. LAD is about raising money, raising awareness, and raising a smile at the same time.
