An Exploration Of Nudity [Art]
Gabriel Tane Colello is the (naked) man behind independent publisher Colello-Publishing Australia and An Exploration Of Nudity, a 200 page hard cover coffee table book that explores and celebrates the beauty of human beings in their birthday suits.
On his website Colello writes that the book is "an exploration of nudity, my nudity, my friends nudity, and a documentation of my feelings in the process of making this book", but on another level the imagery feeds into the part of our selves that psychoanalysts refer to as the id - that liberated, completely unselfconscious, shameless, rule-breaking compartment of your personality that doesn't get used all that often, but gives you the impulse to yelp "FUCKSHITDICK" in the middle of a quiet anatomy lecture. Or make a tasteless joke at a funeral. Or spontaneously throw your wallet off a bridge. It's that little voice that says "go on - take off your pants. The boss won't mind."
Colello-Publishing has released a behind-the-scenes film to accompany the book.
An Exploration Of Nudity was photographed by Mitchell Connelly who is an original band member and percussionist with Angus and Julia Stone and The Beautiful Girls.
Gabriel says: "Life isn’t too serious, fuck it, I’m gonna have a go! I love that! Living with some balls!! If you run from love by fear I guarantee you’ll grow old and regret it. So I’m gonna live and learn, ready to fail and ready to succeed. I could look like a goose or a legend. Either way I couldn’t care less, I’m proud of this exploration of nudity.
We’ve all become better people by doing this. Through my eyes it’s innocence, love, freedom, friendship, laughter, and simply stating we’re born naked. It’s a natural beautiful thing. I’m gonna live naked! And when I say I’m gonna live naked, I mean my spirit will live naked. At it’s purest!!! I love you and everyone else. Enjoy!"
