Cécile Allain’s youthful pictures graced dozens of nudist magazine pages as well as their covers during the 1960s. As thesweetheart of Swallows Sun Island near El Cajón, California she oft greeted members and visitors with her two biggest assets: a radiant smile and her genuine nature. Cécile’s parents were avid nudists and enthusiastically raised their only daughter as one.

Born on Cape Cod in the town of Taunton, Massachusetts, the energetic teenager moved with her parents to the West Coast when she was fifteen. Cécile divided her time between being an active participant in Royalty pageants at the numerous sun clubs around Southern California, her job at Frontier Land — a themed amusement park that abutted Swallows Sun Island — and being an average American co-ed at El Capitan High School, albeit her all-over tan created forthright discussions and a good measure of envy amongst her classmates in the girls’ showers.
A favourite of famed photographer Edmund Lea, Cécile limited her modeling career to the then-underground nudist community. She was a young lady completely at ease with being in front of the camera, presenting a real vivaciousness and love for the clothes-free life.

Upon graduating from high school, Cécile attended San Diego State College for six semesters; she also met Richard, a fellow student, whom she married in the summer prior to her senior year. The couple moved to the Los Angeles area, where Cécile enrolled at California State College at Long Beach and graduated with a BA in Mathematics. Richard and Cécile divorced after nine years.
She spent two years as a laboratory assistant for Purex. Cécile then went to work for Security Pacific Bank as a computer programmer trainee; she later became a full-fledged programmer and finally an assistant vice president of the bank’s Data Processing department. Her career with the bank lasted twenty years.
Cécile wrote in her Twentieth Class Reunion profile, “I consider myself very successful, happy and living a fulfilling life.” Following her divorce, Cécile became a born-again Christian and planned to move back to the San Diego area. That return however was detoured when, after eleven years of the back-to-single life, Cécile was once again a happily married lady — Tombeing her lucky groom — and they relocated to the Santa Barbara wine country.
Tom and Cécile continue to live near the California Central Coast where she maintains a busy schedule: She does some part-time accounting as well as considerable volunteering for local churches; and is the registered agent for a non-profit 501(c)(3) religious corporation. In an annual celebration, Cécile accepts a city proclamation declaring a National Day of Prayer observance on behalf of her institute and encourages people of all faiths in her community to participate in their own traditions.
Cécile Allain’s time in the nudist spotlight was a half-century ago. Respecting her privacy, more specific information has been withheld. As a young lady who gleefully presented her pulchritude for the appreciative camera and possessed feminine assets far advanced of her age, she certainly embodied the wholesomeness and good-natured fun of social nudism. Cécile of yesterday delights the eye whilst Cécile of to-day nourishes the soul; she is a sister in Christ and continues to live her happy, fulfilling life.
