Naked Youtube Campaign Sweeps The Net [Blast From The Past]
15th April 2008 - A campaign to turn YouTube naked is gathering momentum on the web – with even Hilary Clinton (not the real one) adding her support.
Begun last week by a user known as Chris3ff, the Naked Vlog campaign has seen dozens of site contributors ditch their clothes and discuss everything from their trip to the dentist to the US presidential election.
The basic premise of the campaign – or the 'nude-o-lution' as some are billing it – is that you lose the clothes and film yourself giving a video blog which is then posted to the site.
But in order to conform to YouTube's strict policies about nakedness and decency on the site, all those participating are told to keep it clean and leave everything to the imagination to avoid having the footage taken down.
Everyone who takes part then tags three other YouTube members in an effort to convince them to join in and the nude carnage continues.
With more than 80,000 visitors to the original campaign launch already and over 100 fellow Naked Vloggers the online uprising is gaining attention and is now being featured on YouTube's front page.
Contributors come in all shapes and sizes, from young American girl Katie, or K80Blog, who discusses her upcoming trip to the dentist while covering her modesty to the rather less young FlyingDad who fends off phone calls from his unknowing wife while filming his blog in his birthday suit.
Even a possible future US president, or at least an imitator of one, has got involved with one user donning a Hilary Clinton wig and little else and tagging Barack Obama to follow suit.
Another user, who calls herself Jill from New York City – otherwise known as xgobobeanx – becomes a hippy, paints flowers on her face and calls for a new Summer of Love before recounting lyrics to John Lennon's Revolution in a high-pitched squeal.

The craze has spread to Britain and model-actor Jane Postlethwaite, who is known online as Stylist Brighton, is one of many UK users to have joined in.
Writing on her blog she admits that the response to her video strip – she had more than 5,000 views within a few days of posting – has surprised her.
"So, I did my naked vlog after being tagged by Billilovesmargot," she wrote. "In 24 hours I get over 20 subscribers! Now I am a little worried they think I am going to be naked in all my videos."
