Marilou attended the University of Houston and Oklahoma A & M. She moved to San Francisco after college.
In her early adulthood, she worked for the San Francisco Chronicle, was actively involved at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Daly City, worked as a volunteer for the Democratic Party and as a scout leader for each of her daughters' Girl Scout Troops. Marilou worked for the Boilermakers', Carpenters' and SAG Unions and was a long-time member of the Board of Trustees for Local 33 Clerical Workers' Union Health and Welfare Plan.
Marilou was a free spirit enjoying life to the fullest and had many passions. She loved to sunbathe at Aquatic Park, Searsville Lake, and the Marina Greens; was an active member of the Lupin Naturist Club and an officer in the national naturist group AANR. She loved to travel and read, enjoyed politics, theatre and Jazz, attending the Monterey Jazz Festival for over 30 years.
