Naturism In France [Naturism, Documentary]

A TV report on naturism in France originally broadcast in August 2011. The French-only original was uploaded by pachalix. This version has English subtitles.

The first segment on open beaches was deleted because it was only marginally related to naturism. A follow-up on an unrelated earlier story at the end was also removed.

Currys - Naked [Blast From The Past]

To promote a sale at the Irish stores of Currys (Currys is an electrical retailer in the United Kingdom and Ireland and is owned by Dixons Retail plc) , the team at Rothco and director Luke Franklin had created a playful commercial working with the idea that if Currys could they’d take it all off but for the moment they are taking 50% of a range of products in store. The spot shows Currys staff ‘taking it all off’ as they walk around the store naked, while going about their duties. Their modesty is kept intact by well-positioned irons, TVs and kettles.

The commercial was shot on location at Currys in Santry, Ireland. DOP for the spot was Simon Walsh. Post Production took place at Screen Scene where Luke worked closely with Editor Ciara Brophy during the Offline. Mark Bailey completed all Flame work and Gary Curran graded the spot.

The commercial titled ‘Naked’ is on air today.

Kwixo - Like A Breath Of Freedom [Naturism, Marketing, Humour]

This video is part of a marketing campaign for a French company called Kwixo. Kwixo is a secure payment solution, chosen by the Credit Agricole and LCL , developed by FIA-NET and Europe launched May 19, 2011. This service helps to pay for purchases online and transfer money between individuals. (in other words, a French version of PayPal).

The point of the campaign as I understand it, is to highlight how easy Kwixo is to use if one has not got their wallet to hand.

French Firm La Redoute Sorry For Naked Man Photo

A French fashion retailer has apologised for a photo in which a naked man appeared behind a group of children advertising beachwear - but the image has gone viral on the internet.

In a tweet La Redoute said that it "apologises for the photo published on its site and is doing what's necessary to remove it".

But montages appeared on the internet showing the naked man in some iconic images, such as the Moon landing.



The nudist has not been identified.

In one of the spoof images the face of the disgraced former International Monetary Fund chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, was pasted onto the naked man.

La Redoute is one of France's biggest mail-order retailers.

A spokeswoman for La Redoute, quoted by the AFP news agency, said an internal inquiry had been launched to determine how the error had happened.

The error was compounded by the fact that La Redoute provided a magnifying glass so that people could examine the beachwear close-up.

Some tweeters remarked that the "bad buzz" surrounding the photo was actually useful publicity for La Redoute.

Clothes On, Clothes Off is a short documentary about the 12 year old Frana, whose parents are naturists, they like to walk around naked. Frana is having doubts if she wants to take her clothes off.

La Plaza del Pi [Art]

The times that one could walk naked in the streets of Barcelona are over. Since May 2011 it is even forbidden to walk around in town in bathing-clothes or without a shirt. Here you can see an interesting video of another young lady at the same square.

Roskilde Naked Run 2011 [Sports]

The traditional, annually naked run at the Roskilde Music Festival. Every year, on the Saturday of the Festival, since 1998, Roskilde Festival Radio organizes a nude run around the camp site. One male and female winner will receive a ticket for the next year's festival.

Swiss Can Ban Naked Hiking, Court Rules [Travel]

Switzerland's highest court has ruled that local authorities can impose fines on people hiking nude in the Alps.

The federal court threw out an appeal by a man who was fined after hiking past a family picnic area with no clothes on.

Judges said the eastern canton (region) of Appenzell had been entitled to uphold a law on public decency.

They said the ban on naked hiking was only a marginal infringement on personal freedom.

Although Switzerland does not have a law against public nudity it does have one against public indecency.

The man had been fined 100 Swiss francs (£69; $109) after he walked naked past a family with small children at a picnic area and a Christian rehabilitation centre for drug users in Appenzell.

"It is not overly high-handed to qualify naked hiking as a breach of decency customs," the court said in a statement.

The BBC's Imogen Foulkes in Geneva says naked hiking is an increasingly popular pastime in Switzerland.

However, Appenzell is a deeply devout and conservative canton - it only granted women the right to vote in 1990 - and the influx of naked hikers has offended many local people, she adds.

The new ruling applies to the entire country.

Naked hikers may now have to look for another country which offers them a warmer welcome, our correspondent says.

Boijmans TV Episode 11. Shame [Art]

In Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen zijn prachtige naakten te bewonderen. Voluptueus en rond, door Aristide Maillol - of gespierd en afgetraind door Auguste Rodin. Toch komt het niet vaak voor dat er naakte mensen door het museum lopen. In aflevering 11 van Boijmans TV echter ontvangt gids Bregje een groepje naturisten. In Adams kostuum discussiëren zij bij de Eva van Rodin over schaamte, de plaats van de mens in de schepping en de teloorgang van het paradijs. Ondertussen vertrouwt beeldend kunstenaar Zeger Reijers beveiliger Arie toe dat hij zich misschien wel moet schamen voor ‘Rotating Kitchen’, een performance waarbij een complete keuken, met alles er op en er aan en er in, met zachte kracht de vernieling in draait. Reijers houdt van koken en vergelijkt het met kunst maken. Als kok en als kunstenaar mengt hij graag ingrediënten van over de hele wereld door elkaar. Hij kijkt vooral uit naar het moment waarop hij zijn gasten of publiek kan vragen: en…? En…? Jordi vindt de ronddraaiende keuken van Reijers wel een beetje lijken op de keuken thuis, nadat vader Marco heeft gekookt. En de naturisten in het museum maken hem zelfs bijzonder enthousiast: bloot, bloot, bloot – kunst, kunst, kunst! Maar wie is toch die strak bebrilde kunstenaar die Mandy bij de balie een kunstwerk aanbiedt waarvan de werktitel – paddopiemel - meteen al beter beklijft dan de officiële Engelstalige naam?
