Naked Yoga School [Links]
Naked Yoga School is a weekly online yoga instructional video series where you will be guided through nude asana sequences in the privacy of your own home.
The series was developed with unity in mind and with the aim for each participant to reconnect with themselves and others in an open way. Removing your clothes in your practice is a liberating experience but it can be unnerving at first. The teachers in the videos will guide you through the experience and help you cultivate security, strength, centeredness and wholeness. Nakedness is often viewed with shame and fear. This practice is geared toward removing this shame, fear and other limiting self perceptions and instead bring you closer to pride, respect, honor, openness and acceptance. Our instructors will guide you through the practice to help you gain confidence with your body. We are all born naked. It’s OK to be naked. There should be nothing to hide. Let’s do naked yoga and feel free!

Playboy's Naked Yoga Video Puts Hindus In Difficult Position [Blast From The Past]
THE attempts of "Playboy" publisher Hugh Hefner to cash in on the benefits of naked yoga outraged Hindu leaders, who say that the porn king had exposed the practice for "mercantile greed."
For centuries, India’s Hindu sects espoused the benefits of nudity, with holy men trekking for miles across the subcontinent wearing little more than a smile as they strive to uncover their true divine nature.
A video from Playboy featuring Sara Jean Underwood, a former Playmate of the Year, performing yoga poses, has angered Hindu elders, in what they see as the latest in a string of attempts to commercialise an ancient and spiritual practice.
“Hindus are upset over what is the misuse of the age-old and revered system of yoga by Playboy for mercantile greed, and we are urging the organisation to withdraw all its yoga-related products,” said Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism.
“Yoga is one of the six systems of orthodox Hindu philosophy and it is highly revered in Hinduism. It is a serious mental and physical discipline by means of which the human soul can unite with the universal soul.”
The criticism is the latest salvo to be fired in what some dubbed the yoga wars, a series of disputes over the alleged hijacking of yoga for profit.
The yoga industry is estimated to be worth $6 billion a year in the US alone, where recently-invented variations include yoga for pets and hot nude yoga.
Money-making yogis scandalised yoga’s purists who believe that the true goal should be the attainment of moksha, a blissful release from the endless cycle of rebirth and death.
India, the birthplace of the art, is striking back at what it calls yoga theft by those who claim techniques that may date back thousands of years as their own inventions.
“Yoga deals with spirituality,” said V. K. Gupta, the head of India’s Traditional Knowledge Digital Library, a government-funded database that is in the process of recording hundreds of yoga poses to ensure that foreign gurus cannot patent them.
“Attempts to trademark the ancient property of humanity are offensive - they hurt,” he added.

Naked Yoga Teacher Ralph Craig: Kris Humphries 'Laughed & Joked' On 'Kourtney And Kim Take New York' [Showbiz]
This article is from The Hollywood Reporter:
The Ashtanga instructor tells a different tale about Kardashian's 72-day husband's initial reaction to the nude yoga class on the deftly-edited season premiere of the reality show.
Ralph Craig – the naked yoga teacher who became the final straw in Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries volcanic 72-day marriage -- got a lot of exposure for his Sunday appearance on E!'s Kourtney & Kim Take New York season premiere. And some flack. After walking into the naked yoga class arranged by Kourtney Kardashian, featuring girls in thongs and a handsome naked dread-locked yogi, Kris railed at Kim about the "disgusting and disrespectful" event, referred to Craig as a "stripper" claimed he felt like "throwing up" and skedaddled back to Montana. Watch the video here.
But according to Craig, a 22-year-old Ashanga yogi and practicing Buddhist, Humphries initial reaction was one of surprise and laughter, something that was not shown on the aired episode. "I haven't seen the show yet but I read some of the reports of what he said. It was pretty surprising to read about it because it was all really funny when he first came in. I went to open the door and he looked taken aback but he was laughing, shook his head and made a joke about it. In fact, that was the funniest moment of the shoot.”

Save the Nudists! The Florida Young Naturists Keep the Clothes-Free Lifestyle Alive
This article is from Broward/Palm Beach New Times:
Robbe White is a 27-year-old with a head of cherubic, golden curls. His girlfriend, 24-year-old Anna Phillips, is pretty and sun-kissed, with long, chestnut hair. Phillips is eight months pregnant, but otherwise, these two look like the stereotypical, All-American boy and girl next door.
Except for one detail: They spend most of their time naked.
White and Phillips both come from conservative Christian families. White spent childhood vacations from school as a missionary in tropical foreign lands. Phillips has seven siblings and was raised to believe that birth control is evil. So these two might seem unlikely leaders of a nudist revival movement. But they run the Florida Young Naturists, a group of 18- to 30-year-olds who gather throughout the year to spend weekends au naturel, slipping down water slides, squatting in yoga poses, and beating drums around bonfires.
Being naked, White says, is "really freeing... As far as why I've started [FYN] and how it's paid off with me — there have just been so many positive stories that have come out of this. People have come for the first time and left the weekend crying. So many people have said, 'Wow, this was really great.'

Confession: The Top 10 Reasons I Love Being Naked by Alyssa Perez
Alyssa Perez, Intern of Em & Lo talks about her love of being naked:
1. No Constraints: Do a lunge! Kick your legs! Spin in a circle while swinging your arms! Feel that? Yeah, just air. No clothes rustling, no bra pinching, no underwear bunching, just air.
2. Transparency: I can see absolutely everything on my body, and you know what? That roll that I thought I had peeking out of the top of my jeans while I was bent over in a weird yoga position while trying to reach my pencil that rolled under the bed and between the wall/headboard/dresser… well, its not there at all! Yeah, I look pretty damn good without any waistbands pinching me!
3. BOOBIES!: Yes, although I have owned a pair for over a decade now, I am still amazed by how these babies jiggle, and wiggle, and squish, and feel. Look at them in all their glory! No wonder men love these. I love these!
4. New Sensations: Wandering around naked makes you appreciate the same old things in new ways. You thought that throw you just bought for the futon was soft? Well let me tell you… throw that baby around your bare shoulders while naked – now THAT is soft.
5. Learn to be Adventurous Like Never Before: Remember when you wanted to be just like Ariel one day? Well the first time I went skinny dipping, I was a mermaid – and a damn sexy one too! Who knew that a bikini stood between me and pure adrenaline-pumping freedom? No wonder that saucy little Ariel wasn’t afraid of sharks, went treasure-hunting, and risked everything for true love without a second thought – being naked in water makes you feel invincible, powerful, and beautiful!
6. Yes, Jiggling Is a Good Thing: I mentioned how fantastic jiggling boobs are, well, jiggling in general can be awesome. Just jump around next time you’re naked and see how wonderful it is to feel your body moving without restraints. Your hair bouncing around, your boobs flopping, your ass shaking, even your awesome thighs rippling as they support your leaps!
7. Check Out Those Muscles: When you’re naked you can actually see the strength of your body. Turn around and look at your claves as you go up on your tippy toes – WHOA!! Look how strong you are! Check out your butt while you’re up there! Damn Girl – its tight! Who knew you were so strong?! I’m not talking about rippling muscles that only trainers, athletes, and body builders have – I’m talking about how strong your body has to be just to get you out of bed in the morning or down the stairs. Shoot, my boyfriend has ridiculously strong toes that never cease to amaze me (seriously, when the remote for the TV is just too far for my arm to reach, Kevin’s toe powers are truly life-saving). Everyone has their own secret-body strength.
8. Slathering Yourself with Love (AKA: Body Lotion): There’s just something sacred about my relationship with my body lotion. Buddhists have their controlled breathing to help them meditate, Whirling Dervishes have their well… whirling. I have that moment in the morning or after a shower where I slather on my body lotion. As I rub my coconut oil on my naked body I just think about the strength I have in me, in this body, and prepare myself for the day ahead. It’s a moment to slow myself down and remember who I am and what I’m capable of, and it happens when I’m butt naked!
9. Discovery: One of the coolest things about being naked is that you discover new things on your body that you never knew were there! When I was little I sat on a pile of sharpened pencils and the other day I re-discovered a lead mark that has been on my butt cheek since that fateful day. Around the corner from this lead scar is my newly-discovered favorite mole and north of that mole is a freckle by my collarbone that is the mirror-image to a freckle my boyfriend has on his collarbone. This body-map is constantly changing and surprising me in wonderful ways! Sometimes, though, a body-landmark can be the forebearer of dire news – which is why taking the time to really look at your glorious, naked form is not only fun but also just-plain-healthy. When you take the time to really look at yourself and learn your body you’ll be more likely to notice an irregular mole that could be pre-cancerous or other physical signs of a budding ailment. Who knew playing your own doctor could be so sexy though?!
10. Self-Possession: When I’m naked I truly understand what being self-possessed really means to me. This body, my body, is that – its mine! Its something that only I know all the curves to, all the weak spots, all the kick-ass, strong spots – mine, all mine. Even if someone accidentally sees me naked or tries to cop a feel – they’ll never know me the way I know me. I can share this knowledge with someone I love, but without me to guide them, there’s no way anyone else will get to see and feel what I get to see and feel every day.
